Where did you get the name?
The name Turning Point comes from a passage in the Bible describing the Apostle Paul’s calling. Jesus said to him, “I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.”—Acts 26:17-18 We believe that the ministry of Jesus to people involves a “turning,” just as the verse says—from sin to God, from darkness to light, and from the power of evil to the power of God. Hence, Turning Point Church is a place where people are turned toward God.
When do you do Water Baptisms?
We do Water Baptism the fourth Sunday of every month during the 11 a.m. service. Baptism candidates are to sign up at the Connection Point ahead of time. Also, we ask that you wear dark clothing, bring a change of clothing, and a towel. As a quick "FYI," we do see baptism as one of the steps of faith He has called every believer to do, though we do NOT view baptism as necessary for salvation/justification.
When do you do communion?
Communion is observed on the second Sunday of every month. Communion at Turning Point is for believers/followers of Jesus Christ. It is a time of remembrance of what Christ has accomplished through His suffering and crucifixion. We do not believe that the elements literally become the body and blood of Christ as some do, but are representative of such. It is a time for us to literally "commune" with Jesus, offering Him our worship, dedication, thanks, and worship.
Do you do infant baptism?
No, we do not. Instead, we see the need for the parents of new children to make a public declaration to their church that they are committed to raising their child in a godly way. We call this a "baby dedication." Baptisms are reserved for those that are able to make their own conscious decision of faith. We do baby dedications four times a year on fifth Sundays.
Do you have membership?
While we believe that every believer that walks through our doors is part of the family of the Body of Christ, we do have a formal membership at Turning Point. An invitation will be given periodically at the close of both Sunday services to step forward and make your commitment official. If you would like to join Turning Point at some other time, you may do so by going to the Connection Point and asking for the Membership form. Or, you may approach any one of the ushers, deacons, or pastors to express your desire.
Further, we offer our LifeGroups as a way for you to relationally and practically commit to Turning Point. This commitment is a part of being obedient to the call of Christ to be one with each other, be committed to each other, pray for each other, and encourage each other.
Each new member is strongly urged to attend our Finding the Rock class, offered cyclically on both Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. Upon completion, we invite you to plug in and become a part of the ministry of Turning Point, exercising the gifts and callings God has placed on your life.
I need prayer/advice, who do I talk to?
We have different resources depending on your needs and requests. On Sundays, we usually have a ministry team available that is near the front of the stage after service. During the week, you can contact the office at 817.293.3111. You may also email your prayer requests to our prayer chain at

What denomination are you?
Turning Point is an inter-denominational church, meaning all denominations are welcome to worship with us based on the universality of the cross and blood of Jesus Christ. Turning Point is affiliated with Church on the Rock International, which is a loose-knit fellowship of over 300 churches in America and thousands world-wide. You can check out Church on the Rock International at www.cotri.org.
How do you do worship?
Worship at Turning Point is both celebratory and deeply meaningful. We believe God is looking for those who will worship Him sincerely out of grateful hearts (John 4:24). You will find that we sing new, contemporary songs as well as some the grand old hymns of the faith. We love to worship here, and not only sing about the Lord, but to Him!
How do I dress?
People are free to dress in the manner they feel most comfortable. We’re more concerned with meeting your spiritual needs than what you wear.
Where should I park?
Turning Point Church has a top-notch parking team that will guide you from the moment you turn onto our campus. The parking team will help guide you into the building and will answer any questions you may have to help you along.
Enjoy the Turning Point experience!
We pray that Turning Point Church will become the best spent hour of your week. And most of all, that you will grow richly in your relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and fulfill His good purpose for your life!
